International Human Rights Day

December 6th marks a day that should be a celebrated holiday.  Not only did the U.N. decide it should be International Human Rights Day, but Hillary Rodham Clinton gave a historical speech that will hopefully have an impact on society.  Read on for the video and a link to the transcript.

Though the speech was primarily acknowledging gay rights, Clinton managed to effectively and seamlessly liken LGBT rights to those of women and African Americans.  She used examples of other cultures who accept LGBT people as fully functional and equal members of society.  Not only is this speech about empowering those who've long been quelled by a white male society, this speech is crucial in its delivery as one of the strongest politicians (who happens to be female) who doesn't get the recognition she should.

Find the speech's transcript here.  And see the video following.
